NEW YORK: The Consul General of Pakistan in New York attended a solemn condolence memorial organized by the Consulate General of Nepal in New York to honor ten mountaineers from China, Nepal, the United States, Oman and Pakistan who tragically lost their lives in an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan.
Expressing profound sorrow, the Consul General paid tribute to their courage and spirit and conveyed condolences to their families.
Speakers at the memorial thanked and commended the government of Pakistan for its prompt rescue operations and assistance extended to the mountaineers.
The event highlighted the solidarity of the international mountaineering community.
