MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court has suspended the notification regarding the transfer of Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) of police, issuing an order on a petition filed by Additional IG Muhammad Yasin Qureshi.
The court admitted the writ petition for hearing and summoned the concerned parties on May 6.
According to details, the transfers were challenged on the grounds that a senior officer was reassigned without formally handing over charge, making the move controversial. The petitioner was reportedly due to proceed on one-month ex-Pakistan leave.
Muhammad Yasin Qureshi is set to retire on March 1, 2027. The court has suspended the transfer notification until further orders.
