ISLAMABAD: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi carried out two high-level visits to Islamabad within a 24-hour period, engaging in extensive meetings with Pakistan’s political and military leadership.

Araghchi first arrived in Islamabad from Muscat, where he held meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. Following these discussions, he briefly returned to Muscat before traveling back to Islamabad the next day for further diplomatic consultations.

During his second visit, the Iranian foreign minister continued detailed talks with senior Pakistani officials.

According to Iranian media, he presented Tehran’s proposed framework for peace, which reportedly includes new arrangements concerning the Strait of Hormuz, the lifting of blockades, compensation-related measures, and potential non-aggression understandings between relevant parties. Iranian officials clarified that these discussions were not connected to Iran’s nuclear program.

After concluding his engagements in Islamabad, Araghchi departed for Moscow. He is expected to hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, where discussions will focus on ceasefire efforts, evolving regional tensions, and ongoing diplomatic negotiations.

He is also expected to brief Russian officials on recent developments in Iran’s diplomatic outreach aimed at de-escalation and conflict resolution.
