RAWALPINDI: Due to rain, the main match of the Champions Trophy 2025 between Australia and South Africa was canceled in Rawalpindi on Tuesday evening.
The important and big match to be played in the Champions Trophy at the Pindi Cricket Stadium was first delayed. The toss of the match between Australia and South Africa was to be held at 1: 30 pm and the match was to start at 2 pm but due to rain, the toss could not be held.
Due to continuous rain, the match between Australia and South Africa was canceled and both teams got one point each.
According to the match officials, the ground was wet and rain continued due to which the game was not possible.
South Africa and Australia are first and second in Group B with 3 points each.
The rain in Rawalpindi is expected to affect the schedule of the Champions Trophy further. On the other hand, the practice session of the Pakistan team was also canceled due to continuous rain in Rawalpindi.
The Pakistan cricket team’s training session was scheduled for this evening.
