MUZAFFARABAD: The Election Commission has announced the schedule for by-elections on vacant seats in various union councils across different districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the schedule, the last date for submission of nomination papers has been set for April 16. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be completed on April 17, while the deadline for filing appeals is April 18, with decisions on appeals to be announced on April 20.
The final list of candidates will be published on April 21, 2026, and electoral symbols will be allotted on April 22. Polling will be held on April 25 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm without any break.
The Election Commission said that all necessary arrangements have been completed to ensure a transparent and fair electoral process. Instructions have also been issued to district administrations regarding security and the deployment of polling staff.
