ISLAMABAD: A slight decrease in cement retail prices has been recorded across Pakistan during the past week, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The PBS data shows that in northern cities and regions, the average retail price of a cement bag stood at Rs 1,521, reflecting a 0.33 percent decrease compared to the previous week, when the price was recorded at Rs 1,526 per bag.
In southern regions, the average retail price was Rs 1,537 per bag during the last week, showing a marginal decline of 0.16 percent from Rs 1,540 per bag in the preceding week.
The statistics indicate a continued downward trend in cement prices across the country.
Earlier, during the week ending May 14, a similar decline of Rs 2 per bag was also observed in northern markets, suggesting a consistent pattern of slight price reductions in the construction material sector.
