Committee Invites Opposition Leader for Consultations on Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: The Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir has invited Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai for consultations on Kashmir issue.

The invitation was extended through a formal letter sent by Committee Chairman Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, who requested a meeting aimed at national-level discussions on the evolving situation in Kashmir.

In the letter, the committee proposed deliberations on Pakistan’s diplomatic strategy concerning Kashmir, including efforts to highlight the issue on international forums. It also emphasized the importance of strengthening the narrative of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and exploring ways to build broader political consensus on the matter.

The committee acknowledged Achakzai’s political significance and expressed hope for his participation in shaping a coordinated national approach. Separately, a delegation of the Human Rights Council of Azad Jammu and Kashmir also met with Mahmood Khan Achakzai in his parliamentary chamber, where they discussed the political situation in Azad Kashmir, public demands, and matters related to agreements with the federal government.
