KARACHI: Police have arrested a serving officer of Customs on the charge of working for a gang of kidnappers for ransom.
Addressing a press conference here, SSP anti-violent crime cell of the police said that police had arrested three members of a gang for kidnapping for ransom a youth from the limits of the Brigade police station.
He said one of the three accused arrested in the kidnapping for ransom case has been identified as Abdul Fateh. The SSP said that Fateh turned out to a be a serving inspector of the Customs Department.
He was working with the gang of kidnappers and involved in scored of such cases. Further investigation is underway, said the SSP.
