ISLAMABAD: The case of alleged drug dealer Anmol, also known as “Pinky,” has reached the Senate of Pakistan, where a formal notice has been taken and a detailed report has been requested.

During a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Interior, lawmakers discussed the case and directed the Director General of the Anti Narcotics Force to submit a comprehensive report in the next meeting.

Committee Chairman Faisal Saleem instructed authorities to provide details about the network allegedly linked to the accused, including who was supplied with narcotics and how the distribution system operated.

Senator Samina Zehri raised concerns during the session, questioning how an alleged criminal could move freely and appear in court while drug dealers and other offenders remain active in public spaces.

The committee emphasized the need for a thorough investigation and greater accountability in tackling drug-related crimes.

Meanwhile, in Karachi, a court on Wednesday granted police three-day physical remand of a woman allegedly involved in supplying cocaine and other deadly narcotics across the city.

Anmol alias Pinky was arrested a day earlier from her Garden apartment in a joint raid conducted by police and a civilian intelligence agency in connection with two cases pertaining to the possession of narcotics and an unlicenced weapon.
