Finance minister in US to attend IMF, World Bank meetings

WASHINGTON: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has arrived in Washington on a maiden visit since taking charge in the new government.

During his stay in the US, he is scheduled to participate in a number of meetings of IMF and World Bank. Before his departure, the minister met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and discuss with him matters to be taken up with the lenders.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Masood Khan received the finance minister upon his arrival in Washington.

The minister is also expected to hold meetings with international media and think-tank representatives.
