Gandapur arrested after reaching Islamabad: PTI

Govt officials say KP chief minister has not been taken into custody so far.

ISLAMABAD: After reaching D Chowk, Khyber Pakthunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur moved to the KP House where he was arrested by Rangers, said the PTI in a post on X.

However, the government has not confirmed the arrest. PTI said that Rangers have entered KP House to arrest the KP chief minister.

Moreover, the police and the capital administration with the assistance of Rangers sealed the KP House.

After reaching Islamabad and moving to the KP House, Gandapur said they had arrived in the capital to record their protest despite hurdles created by the government. Now we will wait for the instructions of the party founder Imran Khan for further course of action.

According to media reports, a case was being prepared against the KP chief minister on the charge of attacking state institutions, police and damaging public property.

Moreover, the chief minister and PTI leader is also being charged with misusing public funds and vehicles and other assets for political purposes.

Meanwhile, army deployed in the capital city has cleared D Chowk of the PTI supporters and also ordered media persons to leave the area. Army troops are also patrolling the city.
