SHIKARPUR: Police carried out a successful operation in the riverine (katcha) area of Kot Shahu, rescuing an 11-year-old girl abducted from Peshawar, while two dacoits were killed during the action.

According to a spokesperson for Sindh Police, the rescued girl, identified as Hooram Saeed Pathan, was recovered safely during the operation. The slain suspects included a key outlaw, Abdul Waheed alias Mulla, along with another accomplice.

The operation was launched two days earlier on the directives of Inspector General Sindh, Javed Alam Odho, who had taken notice of reports circulating on social media regarding the kidnapping. He had instructed SSP Shikarpur to ensure the safe recovery of the minor.

Police officials said that the targeted operation also led to the recovery of another abducted girl, Jennifer Aamir Masih, a resident of Lahore who had allegedly been lured and kidnapped under the pretext of employment.

IG Sindh praised the performance of the police team, including DIG Larkana Nasir Aftab and SSP Shikarpur Kaleem Malik, announcing cash rewards and commendation certificates for officers and personnel involved in the operation.

He commended the courage and professionalism of the force, stating that officers risked their lives to rescue innocent victims. The IG further reiterated that operations against criminal elements would continue with full force to ensure public safety across the province.
