Govt Plans Minimal Burden on Public in Budget: Minister

ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has stated that the government is committed to presenting a budget that minimizes financial pressure on the general public.

While addressing the media, the minister explained that the government intends to avoid imposing new taxes, instead prioritizing stronger enforcement and better compliance within the existing tax framework. He added that ongoing efforts are aimed at curbing inflation and providing tangible relief to citizens.

Aurangzeb also highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement, noting that the country is actively working to ease regional tensions and that its efforts are being positively recognized at the international level.

Calling for political unity, he urged all parties to move beyond criticism and collaborate for the sake of economic stability. He further emphasized the need to modernize the agriculture sector, stating that the adoption of advanced technologies could significantly increase wheat production and boost export potential.

The finance minister concluded by noting that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is fully aware of the challenges faced by farmers, and enhancing agricultural productivity remains a key focus of the government.
