Hajj Return Operation Begins as First Flight Arrives in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The post-Hajj flight operation to bring Pakistani pilgrims back home has officially begun, with the first flight arriving in Islamabad from Saudi Arabia.

According to officials, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-742 carried 114 pilgrims and landed in the federal capital, where they were warmly received by airport authorities. Chief Operating Officer of Islamabad Airport Aftab Gilani, along with officials from the Airport Security Force (ASF), welcomed the returning pilgrims.

Special arrangements have been put in place at Islamabad Airport to facilitate the pilgrims upon arrival, ensuring a smooth and comfortable return process.

As per the official schedule, the repatriation operation will continue until June 30. On June 1, multiple flights are expected to arrive across major cities, including five in Islamabad, four each in Karachi and Lahore, three each in Multan and Sialkot, two in Faisalabad, and one in Quetta.

Authorities stated that a total of approximately 119,000 Pakistani pilgrims who performed Hajj under the government scheme will be brought back through 471 flights. The operation involves national, private, and Saudi airlines working in coordination to complete the process efficiently.
