Iranian President Receives Honorary Fellowship from CPSP

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has awarded Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian an honorary fellowship from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in recognition of his services in the field of medicine.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan conferred the honorary fellowship on Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian in acknowledgement of his contributions to public health, medical education, medical research, and dedicated service to society, particularly in the field of cardiac surgery.

The ceremony to confer the honorary fellowship was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, and other senior officials.

The statement added that the honorary fellowship is expected to promote cooperation between Pakistan and Iran in the medical field, particularly in medical education, institutional collaboration, and exchanges of faculty, examiners, and research activities between medical colleges of both countries.

It is worth noting that upon his arrival in Islamabad on a one-day official visit, the Iranian president was received by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, followed by a guard of honour.

During his visit, President Pezeshkian also met Field Marshal Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ), where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to peace and stability in the region.
