Islamabad United Wins Against Hyderabad Kingsmen
KARACHI: Islamabad United delivered a dominant performance in the 36th match of the tournament, defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen by 8 wickets at the National Bank Stadium.
Chasing a modest target of 81 runs, Islamabad United comfortably reached the total in just 6.4 overs, losing only 2 wickets.
Mohsin Riaz top-scored with a quick 42 runs, while Sameer Minhas added 27 runs to seal the victory.
For Hyderabad Kingsmen, Muhammad Ali claimed both wickets in an otherwise struggling bowling effort.
Earlier, Hyderabad Kingsmen were bowled out for just 80 runs in 15.5 overs, recording their lowest total of the season. Seven batters failed to reach double figures. Usman Khan remained unbeaten on 25, while Kusal Perera, Saim Ayub, and Asif Mahmood contributed 12 runs each. Captain Marnus Labuschagne managed only 5 runs, while opener Muaz Sadaqat was dismissed for a duck.
Islamabad United’s bowling attack was led by Richard Gleeson, Imad Wasim, and Shadab Khan, who took three wickets each.
Captain Shadab Khan opted to field first after winning the toss, a decision that proved decisive as Islamabad maintained their strong position on the points table with 9 points, while Hyderabad Kingsmen remain on 8 points after eight matches.
