ISLAMABAD: Pakistan, along with seven other Muslim-majority countries, has condemned the alleged mistreatment and public humiliation of Gaza-bound flotilla participants by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir during their detention in Israel.

In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Türkiye, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates described the actions as “appalling, degrading and unacceptable,” stressing that such behavior violates fundamental principles of human dignity and international law.

The ministers said the deliberate humiliation of detainees constituted a serious breach of Israel’s obligations under international humanitarian and human rights frameworks.

They cautioned that provocative actions and inflammatory rhetoric by Israeli officials risk escalating tensions, spreading extremism and weakening international efforts aimed at securing a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian issue through the two-state solution.–APP
