Kashmiris deprived of jobs, bank accounts: Mushaal

Says India's illegal and unilateral move to revoke special status of Kashmir was to strengthen its grip on occupied territory.

ISLAMABAD: People in the occupied Kashmir are being deprived of their jobs quota with their bank accounts also sealed. India has been violating international laws and perpetrating human rights violations in the occupied territory.

This was stated by Mushaal Hussein Mullick, Peace and Culture Organization Chairperson and wife of incarcerated Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, here on Saturday.

Despite all tactics and brutalities, however, India has miserably failed to weaken the spirit of freedom of the people of Kashmir who are determined to continue their struggle for attaining their right to self-determination.

She said that India took another illegal and unilateral move of revoking the special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019 in order to strengthen its grip on the occupied territory and bring in outsiders to turn the Kashmiris into a minority in their own land.

In an interview with Radio Pakistan, she said India was leasing Kashmir’s land to foreigners and giving an impression that the situation had returned to normality.

In response to a question, she said that in the recent election the Kashmiri people rejected the leadership that supported India for their survival. She said the situation in the occupied Kashmir was very bad and pathetic as compared to the past and Pakistani and Kashmiri people should raise effective voices against Indian barbarism.
