ISLAMABAD: The district administration Islamabad has issued a new notification revising business and market operating hours as part of austerity and energy conservation measures.
Under the updated rules, all shops, markets, and shopping malls across the city will close at 8:00 PM throughout the week. However, certain essential services have been granted exemptions.
Pharmacies, hospitals, petrol pumps, dairy shops, sports facilities, and IT/call centers will be allowed to operate until 10:00 PM. Similarly, restaurants, food outlets, and grocery stores can remain open until 10:00 PM, while takeaway and home delivery services will not face any time restrictions.
Wedding halls, marquees, and event venues will also be permitted to continue activities until 10:00 PM, with the policy applying to private events as well.
According to the administration, the revised timings aim to reduce energy consumption while maintaining public convenience by allowing flexibility for key sectors.
