Pakistan Allows Transit Trade to Iran Under New  Order

ISLAMABAD: The government has enforced the Transit of Goods Order 2026, allowing the movement of goods to Iran through Pakistan.

According to the notification, new transit routes have been formally designated, including Gwadar Port, Karachi, and Taftan for trade transit operations.

The Ministry of Commerce stated that goods from third countries destined for Iran will now be permitted to pass through Pakistan. Gwadar Port has also been granted formal status for commercial transit purposes.

As per the notification, a financial guarantee will be mandatory for transit cargo, and customs procedures will be implemented in accordance with regulations of the Federal Board of Revenue.
