Pakistan, Bangladesh to further boost relations further: envoy

PESHAWAR: Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan Mohammad Iqbal Hussain Khan has stated that the two nations share strong relations and plans are underway to launch direct air operations between the two countries. He emphasized Bangladesh’s interest in enhancing cooperation in tourism, education, and other sectors, aiming to strengthen trade and diplomatic ties further.
He expressed these views while addressing media during his visit to Peshawar Press Club, where he congratulated the newly-elected cabinet and governing body members.
On this occasion, Peshawar Press Club President M. Riaz, General Secretary Tayyab Usman Awan, Khyber Union of Journalists President Kashifuddin Syed and other senior journalists were also present.
High Commissioner Hussain highlighted the ongoing shipping trade between Chittagong and Karachi, stressing the need for further expansion. He noted that Bangladeshi products have strong demand in Pakistan, while investment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are abundant. He added that many Bangladeshi citizens visit Pakistan for medical treatment, and there is potential for investment in the industrial sector as well.
He further stated that steps are being taken to establish direct flights between Pakistan and Bangladesh, which would open new avenues for business and cultural exchange between the two nations.
