ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is playing a sincere and active role in promoting peace and stability in the region, said Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi during the weekly media briefing.
The spokesperson said the past two weeks have been particularly busy for Pakistan on the diplomatic front. He noted that the US Secretary of State has appreciated Pakistan’s role in mediation efforts, while US leadership has also acknowledged Islamabad’s contributions towards regional peace.
Tahir Andrabi reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to a constructive and sincere diplomatic role aimed at ensuring peace in the region and will continue its efforts in this regard.
He also said that Pakistan strongly condemns Israeli aggression in Palestine and stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Referring to regional issues, the spokesperson stated that diverting Chenab River water into the Beas River constitutes a violation of international laws.
