Pakistan’s Peter Jacob gets religious freedom award

Award comes for his dedicated work for marginalized religious minority groups for over 35 years.

WASHINGTON: Rights activist Peter Jacob has been given international religious freedom award in the United States of America.

The award was given scores of individual who are working for ensuring religious freedom in different parts of the world, and Pakistan’s Peter Jacob was among them.

The awards were given to the rights defenders at a ceremony by US secretary of state Anthony Blinken.

The participants of the ceremony was told that Jacob had dedicated his life for the last 35 years working for religious freedom and human rights of the marginalized religious minority communities.

Jacob has been associated with different private sector organizations working for human rights and religious freedom in Pakistan.
