JEDDAH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a detailed meeting with Mohammed bin Salman during which both the leaders discussed the evolving situation in the Middle East and matters of mutual interest.
The meeting, held at Qasr Al Salam, lasted for nearly two hours. Upon arrival, the Saudi Crown Prince warmly received the Pakistani prime minister. The discussions focused on regional peace, particularly ongoing diplomatic efforts related to Iran–US tensions.
During the talks, Prime Minister Sharif briefed the Saudi leadership on Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue and de-escalation efforts between the United States and Iran. He reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to promoting lasting peace and stability in the region.
Both sides also reiterated their resolve to further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The Crown Prince appreciated the constructive role played by Pakistan, including efforts led by the country’s leadership, in advancing peace initiatives.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar was also present during the meeting.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Prime Minister Sharif described the discussions as comprehensive, covering regional developments and key bilateral matters. He emphasized that Pakistan would continue to support diplomatic initiatives aimed at ensuring long-term stability in the region.
