ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser has alleged that his party is being unfairly restricted from campaigning in Gilgit-Baltistan, while other political parties continue their election activities freely.

Speaking to the media, Asad Qaiser said that several major political figures, including Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Ameer Muqam, are actively campaigning in the region. However, he claimed that PTI leaders are not being treated equally.

Qaiser further stated that he was prevented from traveling to Skardu, questioning whether PTI leaders are being discriminated against politically. He urged the people of Gilgit-Baltistan to support PTI in the upcoming elections scheduled for June 7 and stressed the importance of protecting the integrity of the vote.

Separately, PTI leader Noor ul Haq Qadri criticized the restriction on Asad Qaiser’s movement, calling it an example of “pre-poll rigging.”

The remarks come amid an increasingly active political environment in Gilgit-Baltistan ahead of the scheduled elections, with multiple parties intensifying their campaigns across the region.
