Putin Assures Iran of Full Support in Strategic Talks with Araghchi

MOSCOW: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met Russian President Vladimir Putin, where they engaged in detailed discussions on the evolving situation in the Middle East, with a particular focus on the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and U.S. blockades affecting the region.

According to Russian state media, President Putin assured Araghchi of Russia’s unwavering support, stating that Russia would continue to act in the best interests of Iran and the broader region to achieve peace as soon as possible. He also expressed confidence that the Iranian people, driven by courage and a spirit of independence, would eventually overcome the current difficulties, with peace and stability ultimately being restored under Iran’s new leadership.

In response, Araghchi thanked Putin for his continued support, emphasizing that Iran-Russia relations have historically been strong and would only grow stronger moving forward. He stated that the Iranian people had proven their ability to resist U.S. pressure and to fight back against foreign interference.

“We have shown the world that through resistance and bravery, the Iranian people can overcome any challenge, including the attacks from the U.S.,” Araghchi said. “We also proved that superpowers will not achieve their goals at our expense.”

Araghchi also highlighted that Iran’s relationship with Russia remains a cornerstone of its foreign policy, with Russia serving as a vital strategic ally in these challenging times. He thanked Russia for its unwavering commitment to supporting the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the meeting, President Putin also revealed that he had received a message from Iran’s top leadership, expressing gratitude for Russia’s continued support. Putin reiterated that strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and Iran would remain a key priority.
