ISLAMABAD: The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has released its report on the second nationwide anti-polio campaign, highlighting strong vaccination coverage across the country.

According to the report, the average vaccination rate remained above expectations in all regions, with 4.48 crore children administered polio drops during the drive.

The NEOC stated that vaccination teams reached 99 percent of households across federal and provincial levels, while around 400,000 frontline health workers were mobilized to carry out door-to-door immunization.

Provincially, 2.3 crore children were vaccinated in Punjab, 1.04 crore in Sindh, 72.35 lakh in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 26.21 lakh in Balochistan. In addition, 4.41 lakh children were reached in Islamabad, 2.92 lakh in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 7.17 lakh in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The report also noted a 20 percent decline in vaccine refusal cases, with overall refusal rates falling below 0.15 percent during the campaign.

Authorities said special efforts were made to revisit households where children initially missed vaccination, ensuring broader coverage through repeated outreach.
