KARACHI: The relatives of the elderly man and his daughter, who were killed in a traffic accident at Karsaz in Karachi weeks ago, have forgiven the errant SUV driver.
The driver is currently in jail and besides the accident another case has also been registered against her for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The driver of the SUV, a woman, hit a car and ran away and then crushed the elderly man and his daughter who was traveling on a bike in Karachi.
Initially, relatives of the woman driver tried to portray her as a mentally disturbed person but check up at the Jinnah Hospital showed that she was mentality fit and sound.
Now it has been learnt that the relatives of the two deceased persons have reached an understanding and are ready to forgive the driver.
According to the agreement between the two sides, the wife of the deceased man has stated in the agreement that she had forgiven the driver in the name of Allah who is the most merciful and beneficent.
Sources however said the family of the victims agreed to forgive the driver in return for Rs50,000,000 and a job for one person from the family in a factory.
Now an application would be filed in a local court seeking bail for the driver and the family of the victims will not oppose the bail plea paving way for the release of the driver.
