Pakistani mountaineer Sajid Ali Sadpara summited Mount Makalu early Saturday, marking a major milestone in his career. The successful climb makes Makalu his 10th peak above 8,000 metres.
Sajid reached the 8,485-metre summit at around 5am, according to official details. Mount Makalu ranks as the world’s fifth-highest mountain and lies in Nepal.
The achievement strengthens Sajid’s position among Pakistan’s leading high-altitude climbers.
He continues to build a strong record on the world’s most dangerous peaks.
Makalu Known for Extreme Difficulty
Mount Makalu sits in the Mahalangur Himalayas, near Mount Everest on the Nepal-China border.
Climbers consider it one of the most technically demanding mountains.
Steep ridges, unstable terrain, and harsh weather make the ascent highly challenging.
Many expeditions fail due to these extreme conditions.
National Recognition and Praise
The Alpine Club of Pakistan congratulated Sajid on his latest achievement. Officials called the summit a moment of national pride.
Club President Irfan Arshad praised Sajid’s determination and technical skill.
He said the climb highlights Pakistan’s growing presence in global mountaineering.
Vice President Karrar Haidri also extended congratulations and wished Sajid a safe descent.
He expressed hope that the achievement would inspire young climbers.
