Seven army personnel martyred in IED blast

Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism, says ISPR.

RAWALPINDI: Seven army personnel, including an officer, were martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday.

According to the ISPR, the vehicle of the army personnel from Northern Light infantry (NLI) was targeted by terrorists through the IED device.

The martyred army personnel were identified as Capt Muhammad Farz Ilyas, 26 (Kasur), Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir, 50, (Skardu), Lance Naek Muhammad Anwar, 34, (Ganche), Lance Naek Hussain Ali Khan, 36, (Ghizer), Sepoy Asadullah, 33, (Multan), Sepoy Manzoor Hussain, 27, (Gilgit) and Sepoy Rashid Mahmood, 31, (Rawalpindi).

An operation was being carried out to eliminate any terrorists present in the area and perpetrators of this henious act would be brought to justice.

“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” said the ISPR.
