LAHORE: The Education Department has announced a ban on summer camps in all schools from July 1 due to rising temperatures and ongoing heatwave conditions.

According to an official notification, schools were allowed to conduct summer camps only until June 30. From July 1 onward, no educational institution will be permitted to hold such activities.

The department warned that strict action will be taken against institutions violating the directive. Penalties may include heavy fines and even cancellation of a school’s operating licence.

Education authorities have been instructed to inform all schools of the new orders and ensure full compliance. Special inspection teams will begin visiting schools from July 1 to monitor implementation of the ban.

Officials said immediate action will be taken against any institution found conducting unauthorized summer camps.

Meanwhile, parents have also urged students to use the summer vacation period to complete their holiday homework and remain indoors during the extreme heat.
