BEIJING: US President Donald Trump has arrived in Beijing for a three-day official visit, where he received a formal reception upon arrival.
During his visit, Trump is expected to hold key talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Discussions are likely to focus on trade tensions and the global economy.
This marks Trump’s first visit to China since his previous trip in 2017.
Earlier, speaking to the media at the White House, Trump addressed the issue of Iran, stating that the United States faced a clear choice: either allow certain elements to acquire nuclear weapons or take steps to prevent it.
He added that supporting nuclear capability for Iran would be an unwise decision.
The visit comes at a time of heightened global geopolitical tensions, making the outcome of these high-level discussions particularly significant.
