TEHRAN: The recent threatening statements by the United States of America and Israel over Iran’s nuclear program have angered Tehran which has warned both the countries of series consequences in case of any misadventure.
The Foreign Ministry in Tehran said in a statement that Iran had defended its nuclear program and will not hesitate to continue it at any cost.
A spokesman for the ministry said Iran’s peaceful nuclear program had continued and been peaceful for three decades. As a member of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, Iran has the right not to show any weakness in its nuclear program.
It may noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said after meeting with the US Secretary of State on Sunday that the United States and Israel were committed to preventing Iran’s nuclear program.
“The Iranian state is behind every terrorist group, every act of violence, every act of destabilization, and every threat to peace for millions of people in the region,” he added.
The spokesperson in Iran said that Tehran had every right to continue its peaceful nuclear program and would do so at all costs.
