ISLAMABAD: The Federal Bureau of Statistics has released its latest weekly inflation report, showing a sharp rise in the country’s inflation trend.
According to the report, Pakistan’s annual inflation rate has increased to 13.98 percent, compared to 12.16 percent recorded last week.
The data shows that prices of 19 essential commodities increased during the week, while 9 items became cheaper and 23 remained stable.
Key increases were observed in food items, with potatoes rising by 3.13 percent, bread by 0.91 percent, and cooking oil by 0.69 percent. Prices of eggs, mutton, chicken, and ghee also registered an increase.
On the other hand, prices of tomatoes dropped by 27.65 percent and onions by 9.35 percent. Diesel, LPG, flour, and sugar also became cheaper during the week.
Despite the weekly price fluctuations, the report noted a 0.33 percent decrease in inflation on a weekly basis.
