Zardari meets Putin on sidelines of international moot

ASHGABATH: On the sidelines of an international conference in Turkmenistan, President Asif Ali Zardari and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a brief meeting on Friday.

According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders were attending the moot on “Interrelation of Times and Civilizations – Basis of Peace and Development” at Ashgabat in Turkmenistan today.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged best wishes and pleasant words for each other.

President Zardari reached the Turkmenistan  on Thursday and addressed the conference. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Tajik President Emomali Rehmon, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and others attended the moot.

In the absence of Asif Ali Zardari, Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is working as the acting president of Pakistan.
