QUETTA: Rescue teams continued their operation at a coal mine in Sorange, Quetta, on Friday after a deadly accident left dozens of miners trapped underground.
According to Balochistan PDMA Operations Manager Muhammad Fahad, the bodies of 34 miners have so far been recovered, while efforts are underway to retrieve the bodies of two more workers still trapped inside the mine.
The accident occurred at a private coal mine in Sorange on Thursday. According to labour leader Umar Hayat, a powerful explosion caused a large section of the mine to collapse, trapping workers underground.
Rescue teams are continuing efforts to clear the collapsed sections and recover the remaining miners.
