ISLAMABAD: A student had gone missing while on a hiking on Trail-V in the Margalla Hills of Islamabad on Sunday. His dead body was today recovered from a ravine in the hills.
The dead body was shifted to PIMS for postmortem.
Earlier, the Islamabad police said that they had registered a kidnapping case against unknown persons and launched a search operation in the densely forested hills overlooking the capital city of Pakistan.
They said quick response squads had been deployed in the trail and drones were also being used to locate the missing student. On the other hand, a kidnapping case has also been registered.
According to the police, Muhammad Talha had gone on hiking to the trail but on the way he lost way somewhere in the hills. The friends of Talha later called the parents of the student who approached the police.
Margalla Hills are home to a large number of wild animals including leopards and wolves and the district administration frequently warn hikers to go on the hills in group.
The government recently also launched a dedicated force along with mounted personnel to help those straying from the tracks into the forest areas.
