Judicial inquiry into Osama Satti murder case has been completed and report has been submitted to the Interior Ministry. The judicial inquiry has found the five ATS personnel responsible and recommended that they be prosecuted under terrorism provisions.
Judicial Inquiry was made by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rana Muhammad Waqas which was submitted by the Chief Commissioner to the Ministry of Home Affairs. The report said that the accused should be prosecuted under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997. The police monitoring system is weak. The senior police officer present on the spot should have taken control of the situation. The concerned SP and DSP proved irresponsibility. Action should be taken against both the officers.
The report said that wireless records are considered important evidence, steps should be taken to improve the IG system, while, the services of ATS personnel should not be hired without the approval of the SP and they should not be allowed to work with regular forces. However, deployment of ATS commandos should be based on the opinion of psychologists, recommended in the report.
