SIALKOT: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has dismissed the issue of missing persons as a total fraud and vowed to completely eliminate terrorism across the country.
Speaking to the media in Sialkot, Asif stated that most of the missing persons are members of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
He said many of these so-called “missing persons” are terrorists who have been killed in operations, proving that they were part of extremist groups. He revealed that the families of these individuals continue to receive allowances as missing persons, even though they are actively involved in terrorism. “They are even using women and children for their purposes,” he added.
The defence minister also referred to recent attacks in Balochistan, stating that women were used in two separate incidents. He accused external forces of attempting to plunge the country back into economic darkness. Asif claimed that the revelations made by the suspects arrested in recent operations prove that India is involved in these terrorist activities. He labeled the BLA as a “foreign-funded terrorist organization” and noted its presence in multiple countries.
He warned India and Afghanistan not to support organizations like BLA and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
“We have been fighting them for a long time, and we will completely eliminate terrorism,” he affirmed. He referenced recent incidents, including the attack on the Quetta-Sariab Road, a suicide bombing at the Dalbandin FC headquarters, and attacks in Nushki. “Terrorists targeted 12 locations, leaving behind countless bodies as they fled. Our forces are actively engaged in operations,” he said.
