PTI Workers Protest Fuel Price Hike, Several Detained

SC pleaded against forced separation of leaders

KARACHI: Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers took to the streets to protest against the recent increase in petroleum product prices, with several protesters detained during the demonstration.

The protest, reported from Karachi, erupted in response to rising fuel and diesel prices. Authorities attempted to prevent the demonstration by placing barriers and containers around the Karachi Press Club, effectively blocking access routes. Despite these measures, the protest went ahead.

PTI workers initially gathered at the Karachi Press Club to stage their demonstration against inflation and the hike in fuel prices. However, when they were prevented from assembling there, they moved to Fawara Chowk and continued their protest.

Following the protest, police took action and detained multiple PTI workers. Security in the city had been tightened earlier in anticipation of the protest call, with access routes to the Karachi Press Club sealed using containers for security reasons.
