DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates has introduced a new requirement for Pakistani nationals seeking employment in the country, making a Police Character Certificate mandatory for work visa applications.
According to the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment, the UAE government has implemented the requirement for all Pakistani applicants seeking employment visas. The new policy came into effect on July 20, 2026.
Applicants have been advised to obtain a Good Conduct or Police Character Certificate from the relevant authorities in Pakistan and have it attested by the UAE Embassy before submitting their visa applications.
Officials have urged prospective workers to complete the documentation in advance to avoid delays or complications during the visa processing procedure.
