MUZAFFARABAD: The passed a resolution affirming that the representation of refugees in the assembly is a historical and constitutional reality.
The resolution, presented by Finance Minister Qasim Majid, also emphasized that any amendments or reforms to the constitution fall solely within the authority and mandate of elected representatives.
Speaking during the session, Prime Minister said the government remains committed to public welfare policies and strengthening governance. He highlighted ongoing efforts to improve public access to leadership and accelerate development initiatives.
The prime minister underscored the region’s tourism potential, stating that Azad Kashmir’s natural beauty continues to attract visitors and that further steps would be taken to promote the sector.
The resolution comes amid ongoing discussions regarding the political and constitutional status of refugee seats, with lawmakers stressing the importance of maintaining democratic continuity and representation.
