BRUSSELS: The European Union has imposed sanctions on several Israeli settlers and affiliated organizations accused of carrying out systematic violence and human rights abuses against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

According to international media reports, the EU Council approved restrictive measures targeting four entities and three individuals linked to what it described as “extremist settler activity.” The bloc stated that these groups have been involved in serious and organized violations, including forced displacement of Palestinian communities and destruction of property.

Among those sanctioned is the Nachala settlement movement and its director Daniela Weiss, who has been accused of promoting and facilitating the forced eviction of Palestinians. Similarly, Israeli NGO Regavim and its director Meir Deutsch have also been placed under sanctions for allegedly supporting demolitions of Palestinian homes and infrastructure, including EU-funded schools.

Another organization, Hashomer Yosh, along with its leadership, has been cited for involvement in multiple violent incidents tied to settlement expansion. Additionally, the Amana Cooperative Association—linked to the broader Gush Emunim settlement movement—has been sanctioned for its alleged role in financing and enabling settlement activities and related violence.

The EU emphasized that such actions undermine peace efforts and violate international law, reiterating its commitment to a two-state solution. Officials noted that accountability for human rights abuses remains a key priority for the bloc.

The move comes amid growing international scrutiny of settlement expansion and escalating tensions in the region, with calls for stronger action to protect Palestinian civilians and uphold international humanitarian standards.
