LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board has dropped four top players for the next Test match against England.
The decision was taken after the abysmally poor and repeated defeat of the national squad. The Pakistan side was trounced by the visiting team in Lahore by an innings and 47 runs.
Earlier, Bangladesh cricket team visited Pakistan and whitewashed the host team by winning all the Test and One Day Internationals.
The poor performance of the team was criticized by the public leading the PCB to drop the four senior players.
An official of the PCB said that Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Nasim Shah and Sarfraz Ahmed had been advised to have rest and come back fresh. He said naming the squad for the next Test against England was a challenge keeping in view the international schedule for the year 2025.
The PCB official also said that while the four players would be having test, domestic performers and young players would be given a chance to take on the British team.
He also said that Babar Azam is one of the best team member of the time and the Pakistan Cricket Board wants him to join the team after taking some rest with new vigor and determination.
