German tourist looted, beaten up in Lahore

DIG operations orders cantonment police to trace and arrest culprits.

LAHORE: A German tourist had been robbed of cash and valuables by robbers in the city of Lahore, police said on Saturday.

They said that the tourist was on world tour and had reached Pakistan on a bicycle from India. He was staying in a tent installed on a roadside near the Allama Iqbal International Airport where he was robbed.

The German tourist lodged a complaint with the police that he was sleeping in his tent when armed men pulled up and beat him up. He said the robbers fled after snatching his mobile phone, cash and valuables.

The police registered a case against the unknown robbers and launched an inquiry. 

Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General Operations Muhammad Faisal Kamran directed the SSP Cantonment to form a special team to trace and arrest the robbers.
