GAZA: Hamas has welcomed the recently announced agreement between the United States and Iran, expressing hope that it will help reduce tensions across the region.

In an official statement, Hamas said it expects the deal to contribute to ending Israeli military actions in Gaza and Lebanon, and to have a broader positive impact on regional stability. The group emphasized that a halt to hostilities on multiple fronts could be a significant step toward de-escalation.

However, Hamas also stressed that lasting peace in the region would remain unattainable as long as what it described as Israeli actions against Palestinians—including displacement, blockade, and violence—continue.

Meanwhile, U.S. Vice President JD Vance confirmed that a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran has been formally signed.

According to reports, the agreement was signed on behalf of the United States by President Donald Trump and Vice President Vance, while Iran was represented by parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

The agreement is part of ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at easing regional tensions and establishing a framework for further negotiations between the two countries.
