WASHINGTON: The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested an Indian gangster on charges including murder, financial fraud and other serious offences.
According to US authorities, the suspect, identified as Nitish Kaushal, is accused of being part of an organised criminal network involved in murder, financial fraud and other illegal activities.
The FBI said the arrest followed a joint investigation conducted in coordination with multiple law enforcement agencies.
Prosecutors said Kaushal has been produced before a court and formally informed of the charges against him. If convicted, he could face a lengthy prison sentence and other severe penalties under US law.
The FBI has not released detailed evidence or investigative findings, saying the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are also examining whether additional suspects or an international criminal network may be linked to the case.
