SRINAGAR: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has acknowledged a clear and striking contrast between conditions in Indian-occupied Kashmir and Azad Kashmir, stating that people on one side live in fear while the other side experiences relative peace and calm.
Speaking at a public function in Srinagar, she said that despite the establishment of several government institutions and development initiatives by the Indian administration, people in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir continue to lack a sense of peace, security, and psychological comfort in their daily lives.
She further observed that residents across the Line of Control in Azad Kashmir appear to live in a comparatively more peaceful, relaxed, and stable environment, whereas the population in the valley continues to face uncertainty, pressure, and restrictions due to heavy security presence and stringent laws.
