ISLAMABAD: The government is setting up Kashmir learning centres in universities across Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, said Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Human Rights and Women Empowerment Mushaal Hussein Mullick.

The centres will help promote study and research on Kashmir, especially highlighting the issue of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the Indian atrocities on the indigenous populace.

She was speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad held in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day to be observed on Monday.

Ms Mullick, wife of Yasin Malik who is incarcerated in India by the Modi regime, stressed the need to establish consultative committees at the district level to propagate the Kashmir cause and expose Indian oppression in the valley.

She also urged the international community to play its role to stop human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir. She said people of occupied Kashmir could never be defeated through oppression and negative tactics like jailing their political leadership.
