Killing spree goes unchecked in occupied Kashmir

Report days over 850 people killed in disputed territory since August 5, 2019.

SRINAGAR: The occupying Indian forces continue killing innocent people of Kashmir without any international forum taking notice of its blatant rights abuses.

Since August 5, 2019 when India Illegally abolished the special status of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), its forces have killed 850 Kashmiris during their crackdowns on civilian population.

According to a fresh report released by Kashmir Media Service, most of the people were killed in fake encounters. Many people were picked up from their houses and killed in fake encounters.

So-called flag marches are frequently conducted in different parts of the occupied territory including Ganderbal, Baramulla, Pulwama, Kulgam, Sopore, Shopian, Bandipora and Budgam.

Rights activists and the APHC have been demanding that the Indian regime should release all political prisoners and stop further arrests in the occupied territory.

They said that the flag marches, crackdowns and arbitrary arrests and killings in the area aimed at terrorizing the people and silence them against the occupation of Kashmir.

They expressed the resolve that the people of Kashmir will continue their struggle till they get their due right to Self-determination.

They also called upon the international community especially the United Nations to fulfil its obligation and conduct a plebescite as promised under the UN Security Council resolutions.
